Remember: Today is a modified shotgun start 8:30 AM!

DAY 3: Will commence on site at J.W. Marriott-Palms Golf Course, Palm Desert, CA on May 26th, 2012. Right at the Resort. SO YOU CAN MEANDER OVER FROM YOUR ROOM. TODAY’S FORMAT WILL BE MATCH PLAY-WITH HANDICAPS! 2 Matches will take place in every foursome, worth 1 point each.

Remember: Today is a tee time start 8:00 AM!

1) THE FIELD WILL HAVE BEEN PREVIOUSLY SPLIT INTO 2 TEAMS, THESE TEAMS WILL COMMENCE PLAY, A –LA “RYDER CUPISH FORMAT”.

· For those not familiar with the outside world, we will be playing for a total of 48 points (Based on 32 players). Each match has a potential of a 1-point outcome (EXCEPT FOR DAY 2- 2PTS. PER MATCH) for your team; meaning if you win your match you will be awarded 1 pt. But if you tie your match you and your opponent will each be awarded one half point.

· Each day 16 matches will be played in previously decided format (Stroke Play, 2 Man Best Ball and Match Play); therefore there are 16 points available to be won each day. (EVEN ON DAY 2…WHEN THERE ARE 8 MATCHES WORTH 2 POINTS EA.)

· The team reaching a total majority of 24.5 points will be declared the winner of the “ROCKY MTN. SPRING SWING” and will enjoy the fruits of victory.

2) At the end of every match the loser will be assessed a $3.00 USD penalty for every stroke or hole that they lost to their opponent. Furthermore, each member of that team will be charged the same penalty, which will be deposited into the pot for the winning team at the end of 3 rounds. UNLIKE USUAL TOURNEYS, ALL MATCHES MUST BE PLAYED OUT IN ORDER TO KEEP THE MONIES STRAIGHT.

For Example: Based on the below with 32 golfers and 16 on each team. Grant beats Tony in a Match Play Event and after 18 holes Grant is up by 2 holes. Tony owes $6 to the pot and every teammate on Tony’s team pay $6 into the Tournament pot as well. This continues throughout all the matches of the day.

If a tie was to happen in the above scenario, Grant and Tony would each be assessed a $10 penalty also matched by each member of their teams. The total for this example would be $320 thrown into the pot from this, the 1st match only (still 15 to go).

To prevent any uprising, snivelling, belly-aching or outright whining there has been a maximum of $75 USD per person per day loss limit set. This supersedes any and all other rules. So if your team was to lose every match; you could lose $225.00 USD over the three days. NOT LIKELY BUT YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

The tournament is twofold, the first team to reach 24.5 points is the winner and they receive the Winner’s pot to be split evenly amongst the team. BUT THE WINNERS MUST TAKE THE LOSERS TO DINNER ONLY- (NO DRINKS) AND THE REMAINDER OF THE POT WILL BE SPLIT AMONGST THE WINNING TEAM.

3) All conflicts, indecision’s, rulings and protests will be dealt with swiftly and inappropriately, by the rules committee…despite what you may think! This includes fictitious handicaps!

Last year was a record breaking year with over $7,000.00 in the pot at the end of the tourney. Congrats! Go out to Team Alberta for their much deserved victory!
